The annual light theatre festival ÖÖvalgel, which takes place on the last weekend of September, is the largest cultural event in Pärnu, where light projection shows are performed in various locations in the city of Pärnu three evenings in a row.

It is a festival of light theater, where stories are told through light and video projections, with the main
character always being a living person.

The first ÖÖvalge Festival took place in September 2019. Today, the festival has become one of the
most unique light theater festivals in the neighbouring countries, where, unlike other light festivals, the
focus is on the performance, not just the light objects or installations.

In 2024 the festival will take place on three consecutive evenings – on September 26-28.09.

This year’s performances will take place in the downtown and beach area of Pärnu. The venues are just a short walk away from each other. Thus, the festival is a stroll along the streets and parks of Pärnu.
