PROJECT CO-FINANCED BY THE EUROPEAN UNION
From 2025 to 2028, the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) supports the implementation and marketing activities of the Pärnu light theatre festival “ÖÖvalgel” with 235 000€.
The light theatre festival “ÖÖvalgel”, held every autumn, is one of the cultural events in Pärnu with the highest number of visitors. Over the course of three evenings, light performances take place at various locations across the city of Pärnu. The event is a light theatre festival where stories are told through light design and visual solutions, with a living human always as the main character. There is no similar light theatre festival in the surrounding region.
The aim of the Pärnu light theatre festival “ÖÖvalgel” is to reduce the seasonality of tourism in Pärnu, stimulate entrepreneurship, develop cooperation between tourism stakeholders and creative professionals, and thereby promote Estonia and the destination of Pärnu internationally.
