INSTALLATIONS OPEN ON BOTH DAYS OF THE FESTIVAL

from 20:00 - 23:00

PANSO

An interactive lighting installation in the courtyard of Sütevaka Humanities High School created to mark 100 years since the birth of Voldemar Panso. The installation will reveal to onlookers the many faces of this multi-talented actor, director and teacher.

The piece was created as part of a series of prop and video mapping workshops for school kids run by Emilie Kirsi, a second-year props student at Viljandi Culture Academy, and Ave Palm, a visual technology specialist and graduate of the academy.

POEM TO NATURE

This immersive video installation focuses on the life cycle of nature as expressed in landscapes and on the order and chaos they embody. Landscapes have been created which exist nowhere else but in the abstract fantasy world of the artist: at times highly intense but therein also gentle and refined, and which can lead to bright moments of recognition while remaining entirely abstract. Moving paintings that seem to describe different sorts of universes altogether.

The installation is accompanied by an original suite of music created by sound artist Kenn-Eerik Kannike. The installation was devised by Ave Palm. Contributing their advice to its realisation were Viljandi Culture Academy lecturers Taavet Jansen and Eero Ehala.
